7th SeptemberAN EVENING WITH CRASH TAYLOR---Crash Taylor is a photographer, filmmaker and educator. Photography is his passion. He teaches photography at Nottingham Trent University. He is also the official in-house photographer and videographer for FHP Living. Crash is also doing a project on the ‘Strangers of Nottingham’ which will be published as a book with all proceeds going to the Save the Children charity. “In photography there are no secrets, there are only principles that we don’t know or haven’t mastered yet.”
14th SeptemberPUT AWAY THAT 500MMJack Perks-One of Jacks’ trademark techniques is using wide angle lens to capture all kinds of wildlife from birds, mammals and reptiles showing that you don't always need a long lens to get the shot, just patience, field craft and luck! Jack has worked on various BBC nature shows like Springwatch, Countryfile and The Great British Year and also runs short courses on wildlife photography with Nottingham Trent University and is a part time lecturer for the MSc Biological Photography and Imaging at the University of Nottingham.
21st SeptemberSHOOT TO PRINTMalcolm Sales ARPS ABIPPIn the first half Malcolm will show a selection of prints from his personal and professional work and discuss his thoughts and settings at the taking stage.The second half will be a resume of his workflow principally in Lightroom (with the occasional excursion into Photoshop).
28th SeptemberINTERNAL COMPETITON ROUND 1---DPI work only, with sections for both colour and monochrome work. Nature/wildlife images are excluded from this heat. Please read the rules in the programme booklet that explains in detail how to enter.

12th OctoberCHANGING THE SUBJECTSue Hartley CPAGBSue judged for us last year and returns to show us a variety of subjects she enjoys photographing. In the 2017 N.&.E.M.P.F. PDI Knockout Sue won the best image award with “Misty Morning Take Off”.
19th OctoberEXHIBITION---A night of inspiration as we view images selected for an exhibition.

2nd NovemberFOCUS ON NATURESteve Shaw AFIAP DPAGB BPE5*Steve is a member of Rolls Royce Photographic Society and his high quality work has helped them gain considerable success during the last few years. This talk will mainly concentrate on nature subjects but as the lenses used are also ideal for photographing sports Steve will also show us some of his work in that area too.
9th November10 IMAGE CHALLENGE---An opportunity for members to share their images from this simple yet exciting challenge
16th NovemberDERBYSHIRE IN DIGITALRobert FalconerRobert will show use images taken during his first 6 years of digital photography in his home county of Derbyshire covering a variety of subjects from landscapes in all seasons, nature including spectacular starling murmurations, to steam trains and aircraft with the Dambusters and Red Arrows over Chatsworth as well as a battle, football and rugby pictures.
23rd NovemberWORKSHOP---An opportunity for members to share techniques and also to learn from short teach-in sessions
30th NovemberINTERNAL COMPETITION ROUND 3----Prints and DPI sections for nature/wildlife images only. This night will also include the first leg of the Intermediate section in which any subject may be entered. Please read the rules in the programme booklet that explains in detail how to enter.

7th DecemberFROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCEVin Scothern DPAGB AFIAP BPE4* PPSAIn the first part of the evening Vin will show through his images that you don't need press accreditation or whopping long lenses or pay extortionate ticket prices to get good sporting images, covers football/rugby/hockey/lacrosse/tennis/motor sports and equestrian. During the second half of the night Vin will show us his successful DPAGB Images from 2015 and a selection of landscape/wildlife and nature/people images just to prove he can take other pictures of other subjects too.
14th DecemberCRITIQUE EVENING---A night of constructive comments about our own images by our own members.

18th JanuaryBEST OF 52--A presentation by our members who are taking part in the clubs 52 Project. This challenge sees the groups’ members posting pictures to a Facebook page illustrating a weekly poem. Tonight they will show us their best work of the year.

1st MarchA GENRE TOO FARLes Forrester ARPS DPAGB EFIAP BPE3*Les will show us images covering various photographic subjects, scapes, equine, sport, portraiture, travel, architecture along with one or two others to make it an interesting evening of photography that covers, hopefully, something for everyone.
8th MarchBATTLE WITH GIBRALTAR---It is 2 years since we last entered a battle with Gibraltar and we were victorious so lets see if we can maintain our record in this home leg.
15th MarchGREAT BRITISH WILDLIFENigel Spencer ARPS AFIAPA showcase of all sorts of species including birds, mammals, flowers, and some of our small tiny creatures including butterflies and moths. The show is a tour of different habitats and what wildlife you would expect to find including both the common and the not so common.  We visit a varied list of habitats including the coast, high mountain tops, freshwater, farmland, woodland
