I came late to art. I have always felt I would like to paint but didn't until I retired.

Initially I went to a few Watercolour classes but I am generally self taught. Once I started I seemed to see the world from a different angle. I look at things and see how I could interpret them on canvas.

In a past life I was a Home Economist and I find myself employing many transferrable skills. One of the first paintings I produced was with a palette knife rather than a brush and a piping bag and nozzle. I have decorated many cakes and I think my love of texture in my work stems from here.

I favour impressionistic over exact, probably why I have developed a loose style and enjoy 'experimenting' in mixed media. Currently I seem to be drawn towards trees, animals and flowers, but I don't do buildings !
