By training a pianist and singer, and by profession a teacher, I have painted for the last 25 years. My work is concerned with status and losing an image, trying to convey both the subject, in a relatively conventional way, while exploring the possibilities of the media in a free way.
I am not interested in a 'style', and try to avoid becoming too comfortable with any one way of working, wanting to broaden my artistic vocabulary.
I have always painted in water-based media, and my current work continues to investigate the beautiful landscape of Yorkshire and its creatures.
